Dress for Success

When applying for a job, first impressions can make a difference in whether or not you will be hired. For an interview, you should wear conservative clothing that is appropriate for the job that you are applying for. A good rule of thumb is to dress a step above what someone in that job would normally wear to work. When choosing clothing for an interview, remember to:

  • Select clothing and jewelry that enhance your image as a suitable employee

  • Avoid wearing strong fragrances

  • Make sure that your is hair clean and neatly styled

  • Clothes should be clean and neatly pressed

  • Select clothing that fits well and stays in place when sitting or walking

  • Less is more – keep your clothes simple and conservative
